Posts, scheduling and CSV import
Write Google posts for one or many locations, schedule them, and import many at once.
Write a post
- Open Posts. The Compose view is the default.
- Choose the post type: Standard, Event, Offer or Alert, and the language.
- Write the summary (up to 1,500 characters), add a button if you want one, and tick the locations.
- Watch the Check panel as you type. Save a draft or submit for approval.
Posts always go through approval. Once approved you can send now, pick a date and time in the client's time zone, or repeat weekly or monthly. The worker checks for due posts every minute, so a send can be about a minute late.
The Calendar view shows what is scheduled and what went out. All posts lists everything with its status. On Google shows posts on your profiles, including ones made outside SynGMB.
Templates and images
Save templates for posts you repeat. The Media library holds images you can reuse across posts. Posts take an image from the library or from an https link.
Import many posts from a CSV file
- On Posts, choose Import posts. Pick one client first.
- Download the template. If you work in Google Sheets, use File, Download, CSV to export your sheet.
- Fill in one row per post. Columns include location, type, summary, button type and link, scheduled time and image link.
- Upload the file or paste the rows, then choose Preview.
- Fix any rows marked Error. When every row says Ready, choose Create drafts.
Creating drafts is all or nothing. If one row has an error, no drafts are made. You can use the placeholders {name}, {city}, {phone}, {address} and {website} in the text and SynGMB fills them in from each location. An unknown placeholder, or a value the location does not have, is shown as a row error.
Imported rows become drafts only. Nothing is submitted, scheduled or sent. You still submit them for approval one by one or in bulk. A phone number in the text trips the phone rule, so that draft is saved but cannot be submitted until you fix it.
