Google Business Profile optimization and editing for every location
Google Business Profile optimization means keeping every profile complete, accurate and current. OpenGMB lets you edit hours, categories and services across locations, scores each profile with 20 health checks and catches edits made outside the app. Every change is checked and approved before it reaches Google.

How do I edit many Google Business Profiles at once?
Three steps, from the preview to the live change.
Propose one change
Pick the fields to change and up to 100 locations of one client. The 12 editable fields are the name, description, categories, hours, special hours, services, service area, website, opening date, phone numbers, store code and address. You see what changes at each location first.
Someone with approval rights approves it
The rules check the change, and someone with approval rights approves it. Approving does not send anything to Google. Applying the change is its own step.
Apply it, location by location
Each location is read from Google again first. If someone changed a field on Google since your preview, that location is skipped with a conflict and nothing is written there. Otherwise the rules run once more and the edit is sent. Google allows 10 edits a minute per location, so the next one waits.
What does the health check look at?
A health check scores one location against 20 checks.
Each check is marked necessary, important or nice to have. When a check fails, the result links to the place in OpenGMB where you can fix it. The score is the checks passed out of the checks that could be read.
The thresholds are our own choices, not Google's rules. A run reads the profile, photos, posts and more from Google live.

How do I know when someone else edits a profile?
OpenGMB compares each profile with its last snapshot every night.
The snapshot runs at 03:30 UTC. A change made outside OpenGMB lands in the alerts inbox.
For each change you can accept it, dismiss it or revert it.
A revert is a new change set. It waits for approval and gets the same conflict check, so it cannot overwrite a newer edit on Google.
What tools help with many locations?
A few tools keep a large account manageable.
Location groups let you filter alerts and reviews by group.
Import locations from your Google account in one step.
Verification status is read live from Google for each location.
Suspension cases keep a 10-item evidence checklist and the case status. OpenGMB does not submit appeals. It keeps your evidence in order.
Built in: what do the rules check on a profile change?
Rules check every profile change before approval, and again at the moment it is applied.
Descriptions
OpenGMB works to a limit of 750 characters for the description, the long-standing Business Profile limit. Google's guidance (checked 2026-10-13) allows no links of any kind, so links and email addresses are blocked (U7.url, U7.email).
Hours, phone and address
Hours have to make sense (PR.hours-valid) and phone numbers have to be in a valid format (PR.phone-format).
An address change shows a warning, because the location may need to be verified again (PR.address-reverification).
Family plumbing since 1998. Book online at www.example.com or email hello@example.com.
- U7.url (blocks publishing) The description contains a URL or web address.
- U7.email (blocks publishing) The description contains an email address.
Who uses it to manage Google Business Profiles: multi-location owners and agencies
Owner of several locations
An owner with six locations changes the holiday hours once for all six. The preview shows each location's old and new hours, someone with approval rights approves it, and the edit is applied location by location.
The health check then shows which location still has no recent photo.
Agency managing several clients
An agency imports a new client's locations from Google, runs a health check on each and fixes the failing checks in one change set per client.
The nightly watch tells the team when someone edits a profile outside OpenGMB. One price covers the account.
Which credits does profile management use?
As of 2026-10-24, OpenGMB costs $10 a month per account. The $10 is usage credit, and only AI drafts and rank scans use it.
A typical reply draft is about $0.0004. That is an estimate, not a price: each draft is charged at its metered cost plus 28%.
Details are on pricing.

Questions about Google Business Profile optimization
What does Google Business Profile optimization mean?
It means keeping your profile complete and accurate so Google can match it to searches: the right categories, hours, services, description, photos and contact details. OpenGMB checks these and helps you change them across locations.
Can I edit many locations at once?
Yes. One change can cover 1 to 100 locations of the same client. You see what changes at each one, and it is approved before anything is sent.
What if someone edits the profile on Google while my change waits?
Each location is read from Google again when the change is applied. If a field no longer matches your preview, that location is skipped with a conflict and nothing is written there.
Does OpenGMB appeal a suspension for me?
No. It keeps a case record and an evidence checklist so you can appeal on Google yourself. Nothing is sent to Google from the case.
