Google review requests by email, link and QR code, with a review widget for your site
A Google review request asks a customer to leave a review on your Business Profile. OpenGMB gives you three ways to ask: an email campaign with an optional reminder, a tracked link and a QR code. A website widget then shows your reviews. Every request asks for a review, never a rating.

How do I ask customers for Google reviews with OpenGMB?
Three steps, from the first draft to the reminder.
Write the message for one location
Create a campaign for a location and edit the subject and message. A wording check refuses stars, ratings, surveys and feedback requests, so every email only asks for a review.
Add your customers
Paste a CSV or add people one at a time, up to 500 per import. You confirm you have permission to email them first. Anyone who unsubscribed from this client earlier is skipped.
Start it, with an optional reminder
Start the campaign. A reminder goes out 1 to 14 days later (3 by default), only to people who have not clicked. Mail goes out between 8 AM and 9 PM in the client's time zone.
How do the review link and QR code work?
Each location gets a short tracked link, and a QR code that points to it.
The link opens Google's review form for the location. OpenGMB counts each click by source: link, QR code or email, plus a tag for links you paste into your own texts.
Download the QR code as an SVG, a PNG or a printable counter card (PDF) for the front desk.
OpenGMB does not send text messages. To text the link, paste it into your own message.
What does the website widget show?
One script tag adds your Google reviews to your website.
Pick a layout: grid, list, carousel or badge. The widget shows at most 6 reviews.
The widget is off until you turn it on. It can show every rating or only 4- and 5-star reviews, and when it filters, it says so on the widget.
A healthcare client starts with the badge layout, which shows the rating and the review count with no review text.
Built in: how does OpenGMB keep review requests inside Google's rules?
Google does not allow asking only your happy customers for reviews. The campaign checks cover the parts a tool can check.
No review gating
The wording check refuses a subject or message that asks for stars, a rating, a score, a survey or feedback, or that asks how the visit was. The same message and the same link go to everyone, and no step routes unhappy customers somewhere else.
Google's review policy names selectively soliciting positive reviews as rating manipulation (checked 2026-10-24). The standard text rules also run on the email, and a block there stops the campaign from starting.
Unsubscribes and consent
You confirm you have permission to email your customers before anyone is added. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe header and a footer link, and anyone who unsubscribes is skipped for that client from then on.
OpenGMB counts clicks. It does not track email opens, and it does not match a click to the review it led to.
How was your visit? If you loved it, rate us 5 stars on Google.
- No review gating (blocks sending) Remove "How was": the email may only ask for a Google review, never for a rating, a score, a survey or how the visit went.
Who sends Google review requests: local service businesses and agencies
Landscaping owner
A crew finishes a week of jobs. On Monday the owner adds those customers from a CSV, confirms permission and starts a campaign. A reminder goes out 3 days later to anyone who has not clicked.
The same location's QR code goes on the invoice, and the click counts show which route brought people in.
Agency managing several clients
Each client has its own campaigns, review link, QR code and opt-out list. Set it up once per location, then read the click counts by source.
Add the widget script to a client's site once. One price covers the account.
Which credits do review requests use?
As of 2026-10-24, OpenGMB costs $10 a month per account. The $10 is usage credit, and only AI drafts and rank scans use it.
A typical reply draft is about $0.0004. That is an estimate, not a price: each draft is charged at its metered cost plus 28%.
Details are on pricing.

Questions about Google review requests
What is a Google review request?
It is a message that asks a customer to leave a review on your Google Business Profile. OpenGMB sends it as an email, or gives you a link and a QR code to share yourself.
Can I text the review link?
Yes. OpenGMB does not send text messages, but you can paste the link into your own messages and see the clicks.
Can I ask only for 5-star reviews?
No. Google's policy treats selectively asking for positive reviews as rating manipulation, and OpenGMB refuses wording that asks for stars, a rating or feedback. Every customer gets the same message and the same link.
Does the widget show every review?
It can show every rating, or only 4- and 5-star reviews, and it says which on the widget. It shows at most 6 reviews.
