Google Business Profile MCP server: connect Claude to your profiles

OpenGMB runs a Google Business Profile MCP server at https://opengmb.synectus.com/mcp. Connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop or any MCP client that supports HTTP with a token, and your agent can read reviews, insights and profiles and draft replies and posts. What it writes is checked by the same rules as your own work. MCP is included on the $10 plan.

How do I connect an AI agent to Google Business Profile?

Three steps, from a token to a working request.

  1. Create a token

In OpenGMB, create an API token and choose read only, or read and write. The account that owns the token needs two-factor authentication turned on.

  2. Add the server to your client

Run one command in Claude Code, or add the server to Claude Desktop through the mcp-remote bridge. Any other MCP client that supports HTTP can use the same address and token.

  3. Ask in plain words

Try something like "Draft replies to this week's unreplied 5-star reviews". The drafts arrive in Approvals, marked "Drafted by Claude via MCP".

How do I connect Claude Code?

One command. Replace the token placeholder with your own token.

claude mcp add --transport http opengmb https://opengmb.synectus.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <token>"

Claude Desktop reaches a remote server through the mcp-remote bridge, which needs Node.js. The AI agents page in OpenGMB shows the config to paste.

What can an agent do?

244 tools, 112 that read and 132 that write.

  • There is one tool for each thing you can do in the app, so an agent can work with reviews, posts, profiles, insights, reports, rank trackers and more.

  • Resources give an agent the current picture without a search.

  • review-queue holds replies pending approval, blocked or conflicted, and posts pending approval or blocked.

  • google-pending-updates holds open profile changes: edits made outside OpenGMB and updates Google suggested.

  • audit-recent holds the last 100 audit rows.

  • Many write tools return a proposal instead of changing anything. The token owner applies or cancels it within 15 minutes.

  • Other writes run straight away, with no proposal step. Submitting a reply, approving it and publishing it each work this way, so give an agent only the access you want it to have.

Or let built-in AI draft replies and posts

Prefer not to run an agent? OpenGMB can draft with Claude Haiku 5.5 through the Anthropic API.

  • It drafts replies, posts, business and service descriptions and post ideas.

  • Each draft is checked by the same rules before it is returned to you.

  • You can set a monthly AI limit for each client.

  • AI drafts use credit at our cost plus 28%.

Built in: how do you control what an agent can do?

You choose how much your agent can do. A token is read only, or read and write.

Tokens you control

A read only token can look but never change anything. A token held by a client viewer is always read only. A token is shown once, and OpenGMB stores only a hash of it.

Revoke a token and it stops working at once. Tokens do not expire, so revoke the ones you no longer use.

What a read and write token can do

A read and write token acts with the rights of the person who owns it. It can do what that person can do, and a client's token can only approve or send back.

The rules run on what an agent writes. A reply that breaks a rule is blocked, whoever wrote it.

Who connects an agent: business owners and agencies

Business owner

Ask Claude for the reviews that still need a reply and have it draft an answer to each. The drafts wait in Approvals, so you read them over coffee.

Use a read only token if you only want answers, such as a summary of last month's calls.

Agency managing several clients

Ask which locations have failing health checks, across every client, and get one list. Then have the agent draft the fixes.

Keep one read only token for reporting and a separate read and write token for drafting.

Which credits does the MCP server use?

As of 2026-10-24, OpenGMB costs $10 a month per account. The $10 is usage credit, and only AI drafts and rank scans use it.

A typical reply draft is about $0.0004. That is an estimate, not a price: each draft is charged at its metered cost plus 28%.

Questions about the Google Business Profile MCP server

What is a Google Business Profile MCP server?

MCP is a standard way for an AI app to use tools. A Google Business Profile MCP server gives an agent tools to read and manage profiles, reviews, posts and insights. Other tools offer MCP access too. OpenGMB runs what an agent writes through the same rules as work done in the app.

Which AI clients work with it?

Claude Code takes one command. Claude Desktop connects through the mcp-remote bridge, which needs Node.js. Any other MCP client that supports HTTP can use the same address and a token.

Can the agent publish without me?

It depends on the token. A read only token cannot change anything. A read and write token acts with its owner's rights, so it can do what that person can do. Some actions return a proposal that the owner applies, and others, such as approving a reply, run straight away. Start an agent on a read only token.

Is my token safe?

A token is shown once, and OpenGMB stores only a hash of it. The owner needs two-factor authentication turned on, and you can revoke a token at any time. Tokens do not expire, so revoke any you stop using.

Does MCP cost extra?

No. MCP is included on the $10 plan. Google work your agent starts is free with a fair-use limit. An AI draft or a rank scan it starts uses credit, the same as one you start.
