OpenGMB billing and credits explained
OpenGMB costs $10 a month per account, and that amount is usage credit. Credit pays only for AI drafts and rank scans, both at our real cost plus 28%. Google Business Profile calls are free, with a fair-use limit. When credit reaches $0, only AI drafts and rank scans pause.

What does the plan include?
One plan covers one account: $10 a month, with $10 of that returned to you as usage credit. An account can hold any number of locations.
- $10 of usage credit every month
- 14-day trial with $0.50 of credit, no card
- Top up any time if a busy month runs past the credit
- Cancel any time
- Any number of locations on the account
The plan is for the hosted app. The account owner starts and cancels it, and payments go through Razorpay.
How does the free trial work?
New accounts get a 14-day trial with $0.50 of credit and no card. After the trial the account is read-only until you subscribe.
The trial credit ends when the trial ends, or when you subscribe, whichever comes first. A read-only account can still read everything already synced, and can still open Billing to pay.
What uses credit?
- AI drafts and the in-app assistant. Each call is charged at its metered cost plus 28%.
- Rank scans. Each grid point is charged at the DataForSEO cost plus 28%.
Nothing else uses credit. Google Business Profile calls (publish, edit, refresh, import and sync) are free, and so is reading data that is already synced. Every account has a fair-use rate limit on Google calls, so normal work is unlimited and abuse is not.
A rank scan that uses your own DataForSEO key is billed by DataForSEO at their price. OpenGMB does not charge for it.
What does each thing cost?
Google Business Profile calls (publish, edit, refresh, import, sync)
Free (fair use). Google does not charge us per call, so we do not charge you. A fair-use rate limit applies to every account.
Reading synced data (reviews, performance, history)
Free. Reading what is already synced never uses credit.
AI drafts (Claude Haiku 5.5)
Our cost plus 28%. An estimate for a typical reply draft is $0.0004. It is an estimate, not a price: each draft is charged at its metered cost.
Rank scans (one keyword, one grid point)
Our cost plus 28%. Our cost is $0.0006 a point from DataForSEO.
Top-up credit
Prepaid. Add credit any time. It expires 12 months after you buy it.
The DataForSEO cost was checked on 2026-10-12 at dataforseo.com/pricing/serp/google-maps-serp-api. The AI model prices were checked on 2026-10-21 at claude.com/pricing. The draft figure is an estimate for a typical reply, not a price.
Does credit roll over, and can I top up?
Included credit does not roll over to the next month. Top-up credit expires 12 months after you buy it and is not refundable.
You can add credit any time from the Billing screen, and only the account owner can. Credit that expires soonest is spent first, so the monthly credit goes before a top-up.
What happens when credit reaches $0?
When the credit reaches $0, AI drafts and rank scans pause. Everything else keeps working, and we never bill after the fact.
What pauses
AI drafts and rank scans stop until you top up or next month's credit arrives.
What keeps working
Publishing, scheduled posts, replies you already approved and syncs carry on. Google calls are free, so they never use credit.
What you can do
Top up any time, or wait for the next monthly credit. Everything already synced stays readable.
A scan or draft is refused before it starts if your balance cannot cover it, so you are never billed after the fact. If a renewal payment fails, the account keeps working for 7 days, then becomes read-only until the payment goes through.
Where do I see my balance?
- Open Settings, then Billing (
/settings/billing). - The top of the page shows your balance and your account state. The table lists each block of credit, where it came from and when it expires.
- Owners can subscribe, cancel or add credit there. Admins can look but not buy. Other roles do not see the screen.
- The recent use table lists each AI draft and rank scan and what it cost.
Where next?
- PricingThe plan and an estimate for your own locations.
- Getting startedCreate an account and connect Google.
- Connect an AI agentMCP setup and the tools an agent can use.
