Google Place ID finder
A Place ID is the code Google uses to identify one place on Maps. You need it for review links, QR codes, widgets and API calls. Type the business name and city, or paste a Google Maps link, pick the right result and copy the ID. No API key, no account, and nothing you type is saved.

These checks apply OpenGMB's own reading of Google's published policies. They are not legal advice, and they are not made, approved or endorsed by Google. Google decides what it accepts and changes its policies, so a pass here does not guarantee Google will publish your text.
What do you get from the Place ID finder?
The Place ID
The ID for the listing you pick, with a copy button.
A Google Maps link
A link that opens that place on Google Maps, to check you picked the right one.
Next steps with the ID filled in
One click to the review link page or the review QR code page, with your Place ID already there.
How do I find a Google Place ID?
- Type the business name and city, or paste a long Google Maps link.
- Pick the right listing from the results.
- Copy the Place ID. Use the Maps link to check it opens the right place.
What is a Place ID used for?
Google uses it to point to one place on Maps. A Place ID builds your Google review link and QR code, and developers use it for Maps and Places API calls, widgets and reports.
Does a Place ID ever change?
It can. Google says a Place ID may change over time, for example when a business closes or moves, so refresh a stored one now and then and look it up again if a link stops working.
How do I get my Google review link from a Place ID?
Open the review link page with your ID filled in. It builds the link and a QR code from the ID.
Questions about the Google Place ID finder
Is a Place ID the same as a CID?
No. They are different identifiers, and the CID is the number in some Maps URLs.
Can I find the Place ID without an API key?
Yes. Search here and copy it.
Can I look up a service area business with no public address?
Often not. The place may not appear in search results. If it does not, use Google's own Place ID Finder on the map.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and nothing saved.
Why can I not use a short maps.app.goo.gl link?
A short link hides the business name behind a redirect that this tool does not follow. Open it in your browser, copy the long address from the address bar, or type the name and city.
