Google review QR code generator

A Google review QR code takes a customer straight to the box where they write a review. Search for your business and this tool builds the code from your Place ID. Download it as a PNG or SVG, or print it as a counter sign, table tent or business cards. No sign-up, and nothing you type is saved.

Find your business and get your QR code

Your Place ID is the long code Google uses for your listing. Open the Place ID Finder.

These checks apply OpenGMB's own reading of Google's published policies. They are not legal advice, and they are not made, approved or endorsed by Google. Google decides what it accepts and changes its policies, so a pass here does not guarantee Google will publish your text.

What do you get from the review QR code generator?

A code that opens the review box

Scanning it opens the Google review form for your listing. It is the same link as the review link page, as a picture.

PNG, SVG and print layouts

Use the PNG in documents and the SVG for signs and vehicle graphics. Print a counter sign, a table tent or a sheet of business cards, and choose Save as PDF in the print window if you want a file.

No account and nothing saved

The tool only builds a code. It never signs in to Google and never posts or edits anything on your profile.

How do I make a Google review QR code?

  1. Search for your business by name and city, or paste your Place ID if you have it.
  2. Pick your listing. The code appears with the link it opens.
  3. Download the PNG or SVG, or choose a print layout and print it.
  4. Scan the printed copy with two phones before you print a lot of them.

Where should I put a Google review QR code?

Put it where customers already hold their phones: at the register, on the receipt, on the back of an invoice, on a table, or on a card you hand over after the job.

A QR code works best when someone asks too. A sign with no ask gets few scans. A person who says "if you have a minute, the code on the counter opens our review page" gets more.

What size should a review QR code be when I print it?

As a rule of thumb, a code about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide scans from arm's length on most phones. Print it larger for a sign people read from a few feet away.

Use dark ink on a light background and leave a blank border around the code. Do not stretch it. Scan the printed copy with two phones before you print a hundred.

Can I use a QR code to ask for reviews under Google's rules?

Yes. Google allows asking for reviews. It does not allow paying for them, choosing to ask only your happy customers, or discouraging negative reviews. Put the same code in front of everyone.

How do I know my QR code works?

Scan it with your phone while signed in to Google. The review box should open for your business. If it shows a different business or an error, check the Place ID.

Questions about the Google review QR code

Is the Google review QR code free?

Yes. It is free and needs no account.

Do I need a Place ID?

No. Search for your business by name and city. You can paste a Place ID if you already have one.

Can I put my logo in the QR code?

Not in this tool. A logo can make a code harder to scan, so test any edited version with two phones before you print it.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google's policy does not allow offering payment, discounts or free items for a review. Ask everyone, not only happy customers.

Do you save my business or my Place ID?

No. What you type is used to find your listing and is not stored or logged by us. Your Place ID appears in the download address, because the QR image is built from it.

Send the same link by email and see who clicked

A QR code gets scans you cannot see. OpenGMB review requests send the link by email, with an optional reminder, and count each click by source: link, QR code or email.
